jacob likes making things.

as an artist jacob is capturing the unstable – the run of a glaze in ceramics, the exposure of the photoreactive dyes, or maybe even the perception of an audience.

as an architect, jacob has worked on projects at all scales from neighborhood master plans to major cultural institutions to single family home renovations. jacob is the vice president of architecture at gentry homes ltd where he leads a lean design team with responsibilities from strategy to construction administration. previously, jacob worked at boutique nyc design firm mapos architects and the internationally recognized bjarke ingels group.

having started his career in education, jacob believes strongly in coaching the next generation. Jacob frequently teaches studio courses at uh manoa school of architecture and helps lead a.r.e. exam prep and professional development for aspiring architects at the aia honolulu. he serves on various boards and committies relating to architecture and the built enviroment.
